What is Dordle?

Dordle takes the classic word-guessing challenge whose fun is all about solving a single puzzle and makes the alternative crueler by throwing not just one but two word puzzles at you at a time. This cunning variation keeps the addictive design of Wordle intact but also introduces an extra layer of strategy that will test your vocabulary and pattern recognition abilities unlike ever before.

How to Play

You have seven trials to get the two five-letter words in Dordle. Each guess should consist of five unique letters. After each guess, the letters will be colored: green if the letter is correct and all of its position; yellow if the letter is in the word but in a different position; and gray otherwise.

PC Controls:

• Type Letters: Use your keyboard (A-Z)
• Submit Guess: Press the Enter key
• Delete: Backspace to remove letters
• Navigate: Click with the mouse to switch between the two word grids

Mobile Controls:

• Type Letters: Tap the on-screen keyboard letters
• Submit Guess: Tap the Enter button
• Delete: Tap Backspace
• Navigate: Tap left or right grid to switch focus

Tips & Tricks

To beat the double-word challenge:

1. Spend one or two tries on each grid to gather as much information as possible before working away
2. Once you've made inroads into one word, immediately focus on the other
3. Start with words featuring two to three vowels along with common consonants such as L, T, and Y
4. Latin is a great first word-it covers several vowels and common consonants
5. Try to make guesses evenly distributed between the two grids early on so you gather maximum information
